In your first appointment Nicole will listen to understand your current energetic, physical, mental and emotional needs and goals. We will determine together the best steps to move forward with your ease as the centre point. In follow up sessions we will work on how to incorporate your practice into your day to day life and move forward with your intention. Yoga therapy is a holistic system that integrates and supports the WHOLE person using the Koshic model. The Koshic model details five layers (physical, energetic, emotional, mental, bliss/joy) and through this lens seeks to create balance. Sessions are tailored to the individual’s needs with an emphasis on the most pressing issues. Each appointment will be adjusted to meet the client where they are at upon arrival. Emphasis may be placed on relaxation, calming breath work and meditation or may shift toward movement, activating breath work and sensation. A Yoga Therapist will – - Hold space with trauma informed compassion. - Focus on the somatic experience. - Refer out to other professionals when necessary. - Ask questions such as “How/where does that feel in your body?” “Are your thoughts moving slow/fast?” “How does your energy feel in this moment? “Would it be supportive to feel more/less energy?” A Yoga Therapist will NOT – - Focus on the story of past events. - Diagnose any ailment.
